Marc Sefton

Marc is a structured finance professional with over 17 years’ experience in the speciality finance market and aims to use his industry knowledge and insight to advise and challenge management teams on creating value and growing businesses.

Marc began his career on the graduate scheme at Barclays, moving into the Financial Markets Team as an analyst. In 2008 he left Barclays Capital to partner with Kieran and create RBS’s speciality finance proposition at a time when others were leaving the sector. Seizing the opportunity, over the next five years the duo built the go-to franchise in the speciality finance market, leading the majority of consumer finance transactions in the UK.

Having funded the pre-cursor business in 2010 which eventually became Shawbrook Bank in 2011, Marc joined the company in 2013 as Managing Director of the Wholesale Finance Division. Jointly heading up a new division delivering asset-backed finance solutions to consumer and SME finance businesses, Marc and Kieran combined market-leading technical expertise with a first-class service proposition to highly successful business. Towards the end 2015, Marc assumed sole responsibility for an enlarged Structured Finance business which included Block Discounting, Fund Finance as well as launching the proposition in Ireland.

Having worked with and seen hundreds of businesses, we believe Quilam is uniquely placed to provide the smart capital into entrepreneurial businesses.
